The Circular Beds story was born from a critical question: how can we redesign bed bases to keep them out of landfill and make them truly sustainable?
Recognising the difficulty in recycling conventional bed bases, which typically end up going to landfill or simply discarded, we saw an opportunity to set a new standard by creating a product that prioritises reusability and circularity.
The Australian Bedding Stewardship Council (ABSC) put this critical question to ROBOVOID – the inventor and manufacturer of Circular Beds bed bases. ROBOVOID, a company known for its innovations and focus on decarbonisation in the construction industry, designed and now manufactures a 100% recycled plastic bed base.
Designed for durability, Circular Beds bed bases resist mould and odour and are easy to clean and sterilise, countering the disposability culture and extending its lifespan without adding to waste streams.
ROBOVOID acknowledges the ABSC, Swinburne University, GT Recycling and Social Living for their support in bringing Circular Beds bed bases to market. ROBOVOID also acknowledges the funding support provided by Sustainability Victoria.
ROBOVOID has a successful track record of inventing, developing, manufacturing and commercialising 100% recycled plastic products for construction and furniture applications. With a focus on decarbonisation and reducing waste, ROBOVOID products can be fully recycled at end of life, so they never enter a waste stream. Great products and great for the environment!

The Australian Bedding Stewardship Council (ABSC) partners with bedding manufacturers, suppliers, importers, and retailers to Rethink, Redesign, Reuse, and Recycle bedding, reducing waste and supporting practices that ensure that the bedding industry remains environmentally and commercially sustainable long into the future. We engage the entire value chain to rethink product design, redesign for increased product longevity and circular economy, encourage reuse and create diversion pathways for products that are not at end-of-life. The ABSC's commitment to ethical and sustainable recycling diverts waste from landfill and creates employment pathways in partnership with approved recyclers.
